PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read image information of readable sheet not limited to transparent films or the like after image formation. SOLUTION: A facsimile device 1 has a common transporting path 4, a transporting part 5, an image reading part 6, an image formation part 7, a main control part, etc. The common transporting path 4 leads the original document and sheet to a discharge part 8 from an original document tray 2 and a sheet tray 3 sequentially via the original document reading part 6 which reads the image of one of reading surfaces of the original document and the image formation part 7 which forms an image on one of formation surfaces of the sheet in the side same as the reading surface. The transporting part 5 transports the original document and sheet in the transporting direction (arrow X direction) toward the discharge part 8 via the common transporting path 4 and in the opposite transporting direction (arrow Y direction) opposite to the direction of the arrow X. The main control part stops transporting of the sheet where a test pattern is formed for predetermined time in a correction mode, reversely transports the sheet by a predetermined distance in the arrow Y direction after the predetermined time elapses, transports the sheet again in the arrow X direction after the reverse transporting by the predetermined distance, and reads the image information of the test pattern of the formation surface.
