<p>A method and apparatus for reducing delay of media play belonging to the streaming media field are provided. During the playing process of streaming media that is based on p2p technique, when user executes the drag operation of playing progress, the problem of playing delay caused by switch between nodes can be solved. A method for reducing delay of media play is provided: user node obtains the node information of nodes providing the program needed to be viewed, the user node selects the optimal node from all the node providing program content corresponding to respective period during the respective period of more than one period of the program content, the optimal node is the one of all the nodes which has the shortest distance from the user node; the user node connects to the selected optimal node respectively, receives the media stream data of the program content from the optimal node, and playing the media stream data. An apparatus for reducing delay of media play is also provided, it includes a node information obtaining module, an optimal node selecting module, a connection establishing module and a play module.</p> |
