The invention relates to a tyre tread having a rubber composition based on at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler and a curing system, characterised in that the composition contains between 10 and 40 pce of a guar gum powder. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining a rubber tread composition based on at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler and a curing system, said method including a first phase involving the thermomechanical milling of the constituents of the composition except the curing system. The invention is characterised in that the composition contains between 10 and 40 pce of a guar gum powder and in that the guar gum powder is incorporated during the first milling phase.
