A bias current generator is provided to reduce recovery time required for smooth operation of a self bias circuit. A bias current source(200) generates a bias current in response to a power down mode signal. A first driving unit(220) performs start-up driving of a bias current output stage in case of escaping a power down mode in response to the power down mode signal. A second driving unit(240) performs pull-up driving of the bias current output stage during fixed period from the time of escaping the power down mode. The second driving unit comprises a driving part to drive the bias current output stage in response to a control signal enabled for a fixed time in case of escaping a power down mode.
