<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical material which can securely obstruct accretion regardless of tissue and position. <P>SOLUTION: The medical material for obstructing accretion has a skeleton as a structure comprising a biocompatible base material and containing more than 40 wt.% of polyol therein. As the biocompatible base material, an in vivo non-decomposing absorptive substance selected from polyester, polyurethane, polyamide, silicone resin, and fluorine containing polymer, or a base material selected from such as polysaccharide such as collagen, cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, chitin, chitosan, starch, amylose, amylopectin, dextrin and in vivo decomposing absorptive substances such as polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, polycaprolactone, polylactic acid, polyglycollic acid, polycaproic acid, polymethylene carbonate are preferable.
