PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device capable of adjusting a write current and overshooting, capable of guaranteeing stable and highly reliable writing efficiency. SOLUTION: The storage device is provided with a current parameter varying part capable of varying a write current for writing information in a storage medium and an overshoot amount of the write current, an error rate parameter detection part for detecting an error rate or corresponding error rate parameters with respect to plural combinations of the write current and the overshoot amount changed by the current parameter varying part, a saturation rate calculation part for calculating a saturation rate representing an error rate change for a unit write current value from the error rate parameters detected by the error rate parameter detection part, and a current parameter setting part for deciding and setting the current parameters based on the saturation rate obtained from the saturation rate calculation part.
