PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device provided with a function of surely inspecting whether or not a device key is recorded in a manufacture process. SOLUTION: A control part performs an inspection mode program, and when receiving a prescribed operation, performs an inspection program. The control part 4 confirms whether or not a device key for CPPM, a device key for CPRM and a device key for HDCP are recorded in a flash memory in a device key inspection mode. For each device key, image data having a background for which a screen is divided into three are prepared. The background 620 is displayed in red when they are not recorded in the flash memory and the backgrounds 610 and 630 are displayed in blue when they are recorded. The control part updates and displays the background at every prescribed interval of time, continuously displays red as long as the device key is not recorded in the flash memory, and updates a background color to blue when the device key is recorded.
