PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money dispenser configured of simple paper money conveyance paths, a highly reliable paper money dispenser for reducing paper money jam with respect to not only Japanese paper money but also various sized paper money, and a paper money dispenser which is high in the operability of a user or a staff or high in versatility corresponding to various specifications in terms of security. SOLUTION: An money depositing/dispensing port 20 and a paper money discrimination part 30 are arranged at the upper part of a paper money dispenser 1, and paper money storage sheds 60, 70, 80 and 81 are arranged at the lower part, and a paper money conveyance path is configured so as to be dividable at the upper part and the lower part, and a safety casing 106 surrounding only a lower part paper money mechanism 1b configured of the lower part paper money conveyance path and the paper money storage sheds is mountable separately from the device casing surrounding the whole part of an automatic teller machine, and a lower paper money conveyance path (opening/closing conveyance path) 90 is arranged on the user operation side wall face of the safety casing or in the neighborhood of the wall face at the opposite side. Also, the opening/closing door for enabling a staff to operate the paper money storage sheds in the safety casing are mounted on the user side in a front operation type device to be operated by the user side, and it is mounted on the opposite side of the user side in a rear operation type device to be operated from the opposite side of the user side.
