PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure legibility of a character even when distortion occurs in image information. SOLUTION: A device is equipped with a character recognition part 12 for recognizing the character in the character image from the image information including the background image and the character image, a character image storage part 16 for storing the character image for displaying the character, and a character data conversion part 15 for reading the character image indicating the character recognized by the character recognition part from the character image storage part and replacing this read character image by the character image recognized by the character recognition part.
