PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a discrete logarithm fast. SOLUTION: Hash values f1 and f2 of (y) of y≡gxmod m are used as addresses to store two table containing (x) as data. When a hash value matches different (y), data are stored in a next address. When a discrete logarithm (x) is found, retrieval from the two tables is carried out within address ranges from the hash values f1 and f2 of (y) as starting points to vacancy of data; and when there are matching of data, the data of the table are output as the discrete logarithm (x).
