<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element which emits the light generated in a light-emitting layer to one direction, wherein a light-reflecting layer that reflects the light to the light-emitting direction is formed using a simple process, while the element has high light-emitting efficiency, and also to provide a lighting device. <P>SOLUTION: In the light-emitting element, a semiconductor layer 200 including the light-emitting layer 24 is formed on a substrate 20, and the light-reflecting layer 21, comprising a metal and consisting of a plurality of island-shaped portions, is formed between the substrate 20 and the light-emitting layer 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
