<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric braking device, especially for a sheet-fed printer, capable of accomplishing its purpose by a comparatively small-sized mechanical braking part. <P>SOLUTION: A drive motor 13 is connected to a DC voltage intermediate circuit via an electric output part 3. The other electric braking device 15 can be switched between the drive motor 13 and the output part 3. When a power grid goes down, a generator type braking process is started via the output part 3 under control through computers 4, 5.
