PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication terminal which decides a base station search period, according to the utilization states of terminals, and can optimize balance of reception performance and power saving performance. SOLUTION: The wireless communication terminal is provided with a call-reception history recording unit which records call-reception history, and a search period decision unit which changes to a longer base station search period, when a call-reception frequency is lower than the threshold in a predetermined period, before a time where the terminal determines to be outside of a service of the base station. If the wireless communication terminal discriminates that it lies outside the service of the base station (YES, in step S002), it refers call originating and terminating data periods in the past (step S003), and decides a base station search period (base station search mode) according to the result (step S004).
