摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chain tension from becoming excessive as a projecting amount from a cylinder of a plunger suddenly grows larger when the chain vibration grows larger. SOLUTION: The plunger 11 is slidably inserted into the cylinder 10. A return spring 16 is provided to urge the plunger 11. An oil supply passage 13 is provided in the cylinder to make working fluid flow into a pressure chamber 12. A check valve 14 is provided in the oil supply passage. A leak gap 15 is provided between the sliding surfaces of the plunger and cylinder. A resistance ring 19 through which the plunger passes axially movably is provided axially movably in a certain range for the cylinder. A plurality of resistance pawls 22 extending axially inward from the resistance ring is tilted in a tapered shape diameter reducing toward the opening side of the cylinder to make the tip of the resistance pawl contact the outer periphery of the plunger. The sliding resistance when the plunger is moved in the inserted direction and slid with the each resistance pawl is made greater than the sliding resistance when the plunger is moved in the projecting direction and slid with the each resistance pawl.
