PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation direction switching device capable of either reducing the number of parts or reducing its size. SOLUTION: The rotation direction switching device 1 for transmitting rotative force of an input shaft 2 to an output shaft 3 in a same rotation direction or inverse rotation direction, is provided with one or more pinion gears 45 respectively meshing with an input shaft side gear 41 formed on the input shaft 2 and an output shaft side gear 42 formed on the output shaft 3, a carrier 43 capable of supporting the pinion gears 45 so as to rotate with diameter directions of the respective shafts as rotary axes, and to revolve with shaft directions of the respective shafts as revolution axes, and a dog clutch 5 for mutually connecting and releasing the input shaft 2, the output shaft 3, the carrier 43, and a static member 20 staying still with respect to the input shaft 2, output shaft 3. The dog clutch 5 transmits the rotative force of the input shaft 2 to the output shaft 3 in the same rotation direction by connecting the input shaft 2 and the output shaft 3, and transmits the rotative force of the input shaft 2 to the output shaft 3 in the inverse rotation direction by connecting the carrier 43 and the static member 20.
