<p>Solid or liquid coating compositions are obtained by dissolving a wax in d-limonene or l-limonene in a proportion of from 1 to 100g of wax for 100 g of solvent. The wax may be a natural wax eg. beeswax, vegetable wax, mineral wax, or a synthetic wax or a mixture of such waxes. Natural and/or synthetic resins may be added to the composition. A varnish solution, with (preferably) d- or l-limonene as solvent, may also be added. Limonene as solvent (or emulsifier) for waxes is nontoxic compatible with CCl4 and, in admixture with this compound, nonflammable; has excellent transparency and brightness; easy application; non-sticky; repels foreign bodies eg. dust; good elasticity. Coatings for photographs, paintings, leather, wood, metals, stone.</p> |
