METHOD OF MICROCARDIODYSTROPHY DIAGNOSTICS FOR PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC IRON-DEFICIENCY ANAEMIA

FIELD: medicine; haematology; cardiology. ^ SUBSTANCE: erythrocyte membranes are tested for palmitic and arachidonic acid content. Index is calculated by formula: K=C16:0/C20:4omega6, where C16:0 is relative content of palmitic acid within erythrocyte membrane lipids; C20:4omega6 is relative content of arachidonic acid within erythrocyte membrane lipids. If index value is more than 4.7 standard units microcardiodystrophy is diagnosed. Method is highly sensitive and specific. ^ EFFECT: method application enables to provide microcardiodystrophy diagnostics for patients suffering from iron-deficiency anaemia within early preclinical stage, and as a result to prescribe well-timed metabolic therapy preventing heart insufficiency development. ^ 1 tbl, 4 ex
