PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electronic component capable of securing a rotary knob and a rotating body by a sufficient strength while assuring both the place for fitting a click-member to the rotating body and the place for securing the rotary knob. SOLUTION: The rotary electronic component 1 comprises a rotating type object (rotating body) 50 installed rotatably to a case 20, a rotary knob 10 fitted to the rotating type object 50, and an electric function part 90 whose electrical output changes as the rotating type object 50 rotates. The rotation centers of the rotary knob 10 and the rotating type object 50 are provided with a protruding part 13 and a recess 53 for fixing. A plurality of protruding parts 14 protruding asymmetrically outwards in radial direction is formed on the outer periphery of the protruding part 13. A slot 54 that engages with the protruding part 14 is formed on the inner periphery on the recess 53.
