PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for starting a treatment facility of high temperature coal, which increases a coke production efficiency in starting the treatment facility for conveying coal to a coke oven while making the coal in a high temperature state. SOLUTION: In the method for starting the treatment facility 11 for heating and drying metallurgical coke and conveying it in a high temperature state to the coke oven 10, the treatment facility 11 has a means for drying and classifying coal, a dust coal formation means for forming the obtained granule into briquettes by a forming machine 14, a large particle coal heating means attached to an air stream heating column 19 for heating the obtained large particle, a high-temperature coal conveying means for conveying the large particle and the formed coal to a coal storage tank 23 at the upstream side of the coke oven 10 and preserving them and conveying routes for connecting these means. In starting the conveyance of coal, the operation of the high-temperature coal conveying means is started, the operations of the dust coal formation means and the large particle coal heating means are started simultaneously or the operation of any one of the means is started previously, and, then the operation of the drying and classifying means is started.
