A system in accordanc e with embodiments of the present invention includes a reusable sensor assem bly including a transmitter, microcontroller, and housing plus disposable se nsor assembly including a housing having an opening for receiving both the d istal end of a biosensor, a sensor insertion guidance structure, and a trans mission apparatus for transmitting signals received from the sensor to a reu sable sensor assembly for transmission to an external electronic monitoring unit. |
