<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmitter, a video receiver and a data transmission method which achieve shortening of transmission time of metadata. <P>SOLUTION: The video transmitter 2 is for transmitting a video signal to the video receiver 3 and the video transmitter 2 includes: a command transmission/reception part 24 for receiving a transmission request for metadata from the video receiver 2; a metadata superposing part 22 for superposing metadata according with the transmission request received by the command transmission/reception part 24, onto the video signal; and a video transmission part 23 for transmitting the video signal onto which the metadata has been superposed by the metadata superposing part 22, to the video receiver. Consequently metadata can be transmitted from the video transmitter 2 to the video receiver 3 by a channel for sending the video signal, metadata therefore can be transmitted at high rate in a transmission time shorter than that in the transmission on a channel having a low transmission rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
