<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing unsaturated aldehyde and unsaturated carboxylic acid, particularly, methacrolein and methacrylic acid in high yield, a method for producing the catalyst and a method for producing unsaturated aldehyde and unsaturated carboxylic acid by using the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: A metal component-containing catalyst is used for vapor phase catalytic oxidation of propylene, isobutylene, tertiary butyl alcohol or methyl tertiary butyl ether by using molecular oxygen to synthesize unsaturated aldehyde and unsaturated carboxylic acid and contains molybdenum, bismuth and iron at the least. The method for producing the metal component-containing catalyst comprises a reiterative drying step of drying a metal-containing liquid containing molybdenum, bismuth and iron at the least to obtain metal-containing particles and drying a part or the whole of the obtained metal-containing particles again to obtain metal-containing particles, which step is carried out one or more times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
