PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus to conduct a suitable white balance processing which reduces color noise during a high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit which has a plurality of pixels and includes an image sensor to output a pixel signal for one screen by photoelectric-converting a subject image by the plurality of pixels, a sensitivity changing unit which changes a sensitivity during imaging by the imaging unit, an operation unit which divides the pixel signal for one screen into a plurality of blocks and calculates a color evaluation value to evaluate a color of the block with regard to each block among the plurality of blocks, a decision unit which decides whether the color evaluation value is included in an area determined to be a white on a color space or not with regard to each block among the plurality of blocks, a white balance correcting unit which conducts a white balance correcting processing to the pixel signal for one screen based on decision results of the decision unit, and a changing unit which changes a range of the area determined to be the white on the color space according to the sensitivity.
