PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively reduce disk rotation noise in a disk player having a sound output means and using a turning disk as the recording medium. SOLUTION: This disk drive reads data from a disk at an initial rotation speed to store in a temporary buffer memory (S2) when the reproduction of the disk is started, reads the sequential sound signal data to decode it (S3), applies digital processing by a DSP for adjusting volume, and sound quality (S4), and outputs it to the audio output circuit (S5). When the data remaining in the buffer memory become the predetermined volume or less, the disk motor speed suitable to set sound level (S8) is calculated to control the speed as calculated (S9). Since the disk rotation speed is increased when the output sound volume is high, the noise can be relatively reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
