PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump for a washing machine not easily having clogging of cloth waste. SOLUTION: This washing and drying machine includes a rotary drum holding clothes, an outer tank holding the rotary drum and collecting washing water, a motor fixed on the outer tank and driving the rotary drum, and a casing supporting the outer tank, washes and dries clothes by rotating the rotary drum by the motor. The washing and drying machine is provided with a means blowing air of quantity and speed for smoothing wrinkle of clothes directly on the clothes held in the rotary drum during the drying operation. The means blowing air comprises an air blasting means, an air heating means provided in a blow out side of the blasting means, a nozzle provided in a downstream from the heating means and an air duct connecting the same. The nozzle is provided in a front side of the rotary drum, and is arranged to orient wind blast out from the nozzle toward a back surface of the rotary drum. An exhaust port is provided at a position generally symmetrical with a nozzle position with respect to a rotary center of the rotary drum. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
