A post for a foldable safety fence is provided to facilitate connection between safety fences by sliding joint members connected with a bar into the post. A post(10) for a foldable safety fence comprises guide grooves(11) at four sides, a bolt hole(12) at the top, and a stopper member(20) near the bolt hole. A joint member includes flanges(41) and recesses(42) at one side, and bar receiving grooves(43) at the other side. The flanges of the joint member are slid into the guide grooves of the post. A rotative cover member(30) is mounted on the top of the post by driving a bolt(32) in the bolt hole of the post through the cover member. The cover member is provided with stopper holes(31), and the stopper member, which is reciprocated vertically by a spring, is placed in the stopper holes.
