The invention relates to a method for the quality control of a weld bead made using a welding tool (12), of the type that comprises at least the succ essive steps of collecting, by means of an optical pyrometer (26) having a h igh frequency acquisition sensor (28), at least one signal representative of the temperature of a melted portion of the weld bead, characterized in that the step of signal processing and analysis comprises a frequency phase for checking that the recurring frequencies are within an acceptable range of re ference frequencies, in order to determine if the weld bead is defective.
