<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an optimum recording waveform with respect to any disks including unknown or inferior disks. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical disk drive 1 relating to this invention, a CPU 38 changes the pulse width of a prescribed code length set beforehand by a prescribed value, controls an optical pickup 5, an RF amplifier 23 and an evaluation index measuring circuit 35, etc., measures the asymmetry of reproducing signals when recording and reproducing test data to an optical disk 42 by using the changed pulse width, calculates a correction value for correcting the pulse width of the prescribed code length set beforehand on the basis of the measured asymmetry of the reproducing signals, and corrects the pulse width of the prescribed code length on the basis of the calculated correction value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
