<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VA mode liquid crystal display element with display unevenness due to a rubbing flaw improved. <P>SOLUTION: The VA mode liquid crystal display element 1 is such that the liquid crystal of a liquid crystal layer, having negative dielectric anisotropy contains a chiral agent and also has a twist angle of 90±5° between a pair of substrates between which the liquid crystal is sandwiched. Those substrates have alignment layers, having vertical alignment property by being rubbed. Angles between the axes of absorption of polarizers 3 and 4 and directions of rubbing processing of the substrates adjacent to the polarizers 3 and 4 are both set to 0 to 7°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
