PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone with a means capable of reducing a data size of translation data for translating a foreign language and displaying both summarized and detailed translations.

SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus is provided with: a communication unit for communicating with another apparatus; an imaging unit for outputting image information; a recognition unit for recognizing identification information contained in the image information outputted by the imaging unit; an associated information acquisition instruction unit for instructing the acquisition of associated information associated with the identification information recognized by the recognition unit; and a control unit which controls to acquire and display the associated information via the communication unit in a case where the acquisition of the associated information is instructed by the associated information acquisition instruction unit.
