<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the ripples of output voltage, at abrupt change of the load by suppressing harmonic components in the input current. <P>SOLUTION: An uninterruptible power unit (UPS), at normal times, supplies power from a commercial power supply 1 by closing an AC power supply switch 6 comprising reverse-parallel circuits of a thyristor; while, at power failure, opens switch 6 to supply power to a load 2 from a storage battery 3 via an inverter main circuit 21, wherein a saturable reactor 8 is inserted between the commercial power supply 1 and the switch 6 to prevent the switch 6 from becoming a shut-off state due to the polarity reversal of the power supply voltage and the input current, at a light load or at no-load so as to prevent distortions of the output voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
