PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method by which a highly minute pattern can be continuously formed on a flexible base material such as glass base material, plastic film, plastic film in continuous form having especially favorable production efficiency or the like. SOLUTION: This printing method comprises: (1) the provision of an ink liquid film by coating an ink-releasable film base material fed from a take-up roll with an ink liquid by an ink-jetting method, (2) the acquisition of a predried ink film by predrying the ink liquid film, (3) the thrusting of the pattern-formed surface of a relief printing plate equipped with an intagliated part provided with the shape of a pattern desiring to transfer thereon and a relieved part provided with the shape of a pattern not desiring to transfer so as to transferringly remove the portion of the predried ink film corresponding to the relieved part of the relief printing plate and finally (4) the transferring of the portion of the predried ink film remaining on the ink-releasable film base material to the surface of the target base material to be printed.
