PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function limiting method of a mobile terminal and the mobile terminal in which a plurality of function limitations can be managed in a lump and a function limitation can be automatically performed in response to start of a different event after a specific application function is initiated. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal comprises a management table 2 for designating an operating mode to be set to the mobile terminal for each of applications (applications 1-3 and the like) during execution of the application or in response to a specific event (condition) and means (3, 6) for automatically changing the operating mode of the mobile terminal (e.g., call arrival rejection) in accordance with the specific event (e.g., when browsing a specific Web page) of an application (e.g., browser) initiated on the basis of the management table 2 after the initiation of the application, and the operating mode is automatically switched in accordance with the situation, without depending on an individual change of the operating mode due to a user.
