PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a node device having a redundant configuration including WXC (Wavelength Crossconnect) devices compsed of WSSs (Wavelength Selective Switches), which is small in the number of components and is capable of suppressing the increase of cost. SOLUTION: The node device connecting a plurality of ring-configured optical networks has a redundant configuration wherein a first node device 3 and a second node device 3' constituted as separate members are combined. Each of the first node device 3 and the second node device 3' includes the WXC device composed of the WSSs and is provided with only a pair of the WSS 11, 12', 13, or 14' for ADD and a WSS 15, 16, 17', or 18' for DROP for each ring-configured optical network.
