PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for reproducing a video voice capable of resuming when connection with an electronic device connected through a digital interface is cut off. SOLUTION: The reproduced signal of the HD DVD 23 of a HD (High Definition) DVD standard by a HD DVD drive 24 is decoded by a decoder 20, and then transmitted from the video voice reproducing device 1 through HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) to a TV 3 via a cable 2. When the power of the TV 3 is turned OFF during playing of the DVD 23, a MPU 14 saves the track information of the reproduction stop of the HD DVD 23 at this time and a book mark corresponding to the track information in a memory 15 to enable resumption.
