PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation by an operator and improve the work efficiency, when setting a plurality of OCR (optical character recognition) target areas (fields) for image data of read business forms, and displaying results of the recognition processing of information in the fields. SOLUTION: A scanner 109 for reading business forms as image data is provided, and in a CPU 101, a plurality of fields are set according to the kinds of the business forms read by the scanner 109, recognition processing (OCR) is performed to the information in the fields set for the image data of the business forms and a result of the OCR for each field is transited and displayed in each display area set in the display screen of the display 105.
