PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt-type vacuum packaging apparatus that makes it possible to easily and safely clean off soil on the internal face of a chamber and replace components. SOLUTION: The belt-type vacuum packaging apparatus has a conveying belt 3 rotated endlessly and is configured so that a packaging bag placed on the conveying belt 3 reaches the vacuum packaging section I as the conveying belt runs, the vacuum packaging section I being composed of a chamber 1 and a chamber table 1A located above and below, respectively, the conveying belt 3. After the bag is vacuum packaged, the conveying belt 3 is run to convey the vacuum packaged bag out. In the packaging device, the chamber 1 is movable upstream in the running direction B of the conveyance belt 3 from the vacuum packing section I and can be put into an upright position after its movement.
