PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrence of invalid start entrance into a winning part on the side where the probability of entrance of game media is high in a game machine having a plurality of winning parts in a game area and a plurality of variable display parts for variably displaying identification information. SOLUTION: A game control means executes the variable display of second special symbols in a second special symbol display 8b based on the entrance of a game ball into a second start winning hole 14, and confirms whether a high-base flag is set or not and whether the current game state is a high-base state or not when game balls enter a first start winning hole 13 and the second start winning hole 14 respectively before the variable display of the second special symbols is terminated. When the game state is the high-base state, the game control means executes the variable display of the second special symbols prior to the variable display of first special symbols regardless of the order of entrance into the first start winning hole 13 and the second start winning hole 14.
