PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel which has improved gripping properties, when held together with a spinning rod. SOLUTION: This spinning reel 10, in which a control case 50 having an indicator 38a for a line length measured on the revolution of a spool 20 is provided at the upper portion between side plates 16a, 16b of a reel body 12 that rotatably supports the spool 20, has the reel body 12 formed into a circular shape when viewed from the axial direction of the spool 20, and the spool 20 disposed eccentrically upward and backward from the central position F of a circular outer shape; and the control case 50 in a longitudinal region, between the front-end portion 62 and the rear-end portion 64 of the circular outer shape that crosses a longitudinal central line H and passes through the central position F of a circular outer shape.
