A method for testing a system operation state of a television is provided to find reasons for errors rapidly and exactly in an operation state by analyzing whether an operation sequence of a program operates normally through OSD. A method for testing a system operation state of a television in order to test whether a program of a micro-computer(20) controlling an operation of a television system is being normally performed, includes: checking whether a signal input through a key input unit(10) is a mode testing input signal; selecting a sub mode of a television system to be tested when the mode testing input signal is input; testing the sub mode of the selected television system; and displaying a testing result of the selected sub mode on a screen.
