SETTING DEVICE OF DISK FOR DISK DRIVE AND SETTING METHOD OF DISK BY USING IT

A disk setting device for a disk drive and a disk setting method using the same are provided to apply attractive force between contact pieces of an optical pick and a cover so as to mount a disk on a turn table stably and increase operation reliability of the disk drive. A disk setting device for a disk drive comprises a main chassis(10), an optical pickup base(15), and a cover(50). The optical pickup base is installed with an optical pickup(21) for detecting information recorded in a disk and with a spindle motor(17) for rotating the disk. The cover is attached to the main chassis to cover the main chassis. First and second contact pieces(20,52) are installed on the optical pickup base and at the cover respectively. The disk is stably mounted on a turn table(19) by applying attractive force between the first and second contact pieces.
