A back light assembly and a liquid crystal display including the same are provided to improve the luminescence non-uniformity of the back light assembly by arranging U-shaped lamps in zigzags. A back light assembly includes a lower receiving vessel(160); a lamp unit(130), and a pair of inverter circuit substrate. The lower receiving vessel has a receiving space therein. The lamp unit emits light and includes a plurality of lamps. The lamp has a U-shaped lamp tubes and lamp electrodes. The lamps are connected in parallel to each other at the same phase and are spaced apart from each other. The lamp electrodes are arranged in zigzags. The inverter circuit substrates are adjacent to the lamp electrodes of the lamps and create lamp drive signals from signals provided from outside. |
