PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood panel for an automobile, which hood panel can reduce the HIC value, and can relax the limitation for selecting materials, and has a high pedestrian protecting performance, even when the clearance between the hood panel and a rigid member such as an engine is narrowed. SOLUTION: The hood panel for the automobile is composed of an outer panel and an inner panel having protruding portions surrounded by groove shape skeleton portions having a nearly trapezoidal cross section, and has the excellent performance for protecting the pedestrian, wherein a portion of 2/3 or more of the portion from the end of the protruding portion to the central portion is a continuous surface, and the bottoms of the skeleton portions are opposed to the outer panel in the vicinity to the outer panel. Preferably, the groove shape skeleton portions of the inner panel cross, and the plane shapes of the protruding portions are nearly polygonal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
