<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish a phase difference detection function without using hardware for zero cross point detection. <P>SOLUTION: A phase difference detection circuit is a circuit for detecting a phase difference between a detecting signal and an internal reference signal and comprises a d-q axis transform unit 5, a one-cycle full addition unit 6 and a phase difference calculation unit 7. The d-q axis transform unit 5 uses the internal reference signal to perform d-q transform on the detecting signal, thereby calculating an instantaneous value active component (d) and an instantaneous value reactive component (d). The one-cycle full addition unit 6 fully adds the instantaneous value active component (d) for one cycle to calculate an active component D and further fully adds the instantaneous value reactive component (q) for one cycle to calculate a reactive component Q.
