<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a collation speed and collation accuracy until the identification of the facial image of a person to be collated. <P>SOLUTION: A remote extraction section 451a extracts a face image which is determined to be the face image of another person who is different from the person to be collated, at a position which is a predetermined distance away from a position, where the face image of the person to be collated is acquired by a face image acquisition section 221, and a difference calculating section 451b generates a partial biological information DB 403, from the difference information between a set of face images accumulated in a biological information DB 22 and a set of face images which are determined as being the facial images of other persons to be collated who are different from the person to be collated who has been extracted by the remote extraction section 451a. A similarity calculation section 461 calculates the degree of similarity between the face image of the person to be collated and the facial images in the partial biological information DB 403, and a similarity determination section 462 determines whether the face image of the person to be collated is the face image of a registered person, by comparing the degree of similarity as a result of the collation and a predetermined threshold.
