摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal device that can quickly perform initial alignment transition from splay alignment to bend alignment at a low voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device has a pair of substrates holding a liquid crystal layer therebetween and displays an image by causing the alignment state of the liquid crystal layer to transition from splay alignment to bend alignment, and the liquid crystal device has such a configuration that: a reflective display region R and a transmissive display region T are formed in one sub-pixel region; the layer thickness of the liquid crystal layer differs between the transmissive display region T and the reflective display region R; and the transmissive display region T is interposed between the reflective display regions R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
