PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize voltage at the time of power generation by a permanent-magnet generator to enable reliable power generation, thereby to prevent shortage of generated power and run-out of a battery, and to achieve the extension of the life of a driving motor for a flux control cage.
SOLUTION: The permanent-magnet generator includes: a rotor having a permanent-magnet member; a stator having multiple comb portions and windings; the flux control cage that controls magnetic flux flowing from the permanent-magnet member to the comb portions of the stator; an actuator that rotationally moves the flux control cage; and a controller that controls the operation of the actuator to control the magnetic flux. The windings of the stator are disposed in slot portions between the comb portions and include main windings and field-weakening sub-windings that are wound in the opposite direction to the main windings and whose number of active turns is variable. When the rotational speed of the rotor exceeds a predetermined speed, the controller carries out the following processing, the main windings are energized and the position of the flux control cage is so controlled that the magnetic flux flowing to the comb portions is reduced with increase in the rotational speed of the rotor, and further, the number of effective turns of the field-weakening sub-windings is increased to keep the generation voltage constant within the range of reference voltage.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
