<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable turbocharger capable of easily coping with different mounting style and preventing component management from being complicated. <P>SOLUTION: The variable turbocharger 1 includes a center housing 7 supporting a turbo shaft 6 and is provided with a slide mechanism 20 as a nozzle opening adjusting mechanism adjusting nozzle opening and a hydraulic servo drive device 30 as a drive device driving a drive shaft 21 of the slide mechanism 20. The center housing 7 is provided with a pair of mounting surfaces 130A, 130B which are provided on opposing positions with the turbo shaft 6 put therebetween and on which the hydraulic servo drive device 30 is mounted, and an insertion through hole 119 which penetrates the mounting surfaces 130A, 130B and through which the drive shaft 21 is inserted.
