<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared-ray emitting LED preventing visible light emitted from a chip of the LED used as a light source from being seen from the outside even if a visible light cut filter or the like is arranged on the front side of an infrared-ray projection device; and a vehicular infrared projection device using the LED for a light source. <P>SOLUTION: This infrared-ray emitting LED includes a semiconductor chip, a first electrode and a second electrode arranged by interposing the semiconductor chip therebetween, and a sealing material sealing the semiconductor chip and the first and second electrodes. The infrared-ray emitting LED emits light from the semiconductor chip by injecting a current to the semiconductor through the first electrode and the second electrode, and integrally includes a visible light cut filter absorbing visible light in emitting infrared rays. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
