<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an OS stored in a removable memory unit to boot on the removable memory unit without reading it into a computer device. <P>SOLUTION: In this removable memory unit 10, a memory part 13 comprises: a first storage area 13a recognized as a floppy disk drive; and a second storage area 13b recognized as a hard disk drive. The memory part 13 has a control storage part 14 storing information for making the first storage area 13a be recognized as the floppy disk drive and the second storage area 13b be recognized as the hard disk drive. The memory part 13 stores an OS body 32 in the second storage area 13b, and stores an MBR (Master Boot Record) 30 and an OS boot program 31 including a search script for searching at least the second storage area 13b to specify a storage location of the OS body 32 in the first storage area 13b, reads the OS boot program 31 from the MBR 30, searching for the OS body 32, and boots it on the removable memory unit 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
